Explainer video to introduce STARK Verlag’s new online diagnostic test for students, “Starke Lernpfade”.
About this Project:
This time I had the chance to collaborate with Stark Verlag, Germany's market leader in exam preparation and a part of the Pearson Group. They contacted me to create an animated video of their new product: “Starke Lernpfade”, the first online diagnostic test for parents.
The goal of this project was to show the learning gaps that students could face and how the new online diagnostic test can help them to get a quick overview of their learning performance level and weaknesses. To achieve this, we decided to go for a combination of 2D animation and screen recording and tell a story of a student who has learning problems at school and he feels overwhelmed with all the things he thinks he needs to learn. After doing the test and having a specific overview of his learning gaps, he is able to learn smarter and more efficiently by only reviewing the topics in which he is having problems.
In order to grasp this idea, I used a combination of character animation, creating an IK Rigg for the limbs and a different one to help me animate the facial expressions easily. To integrate the screen recording I made a frame-by-frame path animation to rotate a laptop and then zoom in into the computer screen. In terms of illustrations, everything is based on Pearson’s corporate color palette and style to stay on brand.
Of course, I didn’t do this by my own. Without the help and support from Stark, creating an amazing script, being open to my crazy ideas, and guiding me through the project I wouldn’t have been able to create this very nice video.
